Jet Airways has acquired 15 acres near the Brussels airport in Belgium. The airline said this 500 room five star hotel would mainly cater Jet Passengers who transit through its base in Brussels and also airline crew. It would also have a catering kitchen to serve all Jet flights originating from Belgium and London.
Oberoi hotel chairman PRS Oberoi is on Jet’s board of directors and the airline is likely to use his experience in this project. To cater to the Indian clientele, the Jet Airways is planning to have ethnic dishes on its menu and a dedicated restaurant is also being considered. The move is expected to help Jet top save a huge amount of money. Apart from housing crew the flight-catering unit will serve all its flight to India and US. At present catering is a problem in Belgium, with very few Indian restaurants there to meet the requirement of growing number of Jet flights.
