He walked to school since he could not afford bus fare and was paid so little he slept on the floor of his office. Today he is being touted as India’s answer to Richard Branson and has broken the five decade long monopoly of the state owned air crafts in the Indian skies. He has recently bought Sahara now called Jetlite and now his aircrafts are flying overseas. He has outlasted many of his early competitors and climbed to the top fighting allegations over the source of his funds and an initial failed attempt to acquire Sahara. Today he controls nearly a third of the market.
