India Inc Performance in the quarter ended September 30, 2007

Tata Motors Limited posted a 19 % rise in net profit at Rs. 527 crores for the quarter ended September 30, 2007 against Rs. 441 crores during same quarter of last fiscal.
Hindustan Unilever Limited posted a rise of 6.7 % net profit for the quarter ended September 30, 2007.
Bharti Airtel posted a 73 % rise in net profit at Rs. 1614 crores for the quarter ended September 30, 2007 against Rs. 932.94 crores during same quarter of last fiscal.
CESC posted a 35 % rise in net profit at Rs. 93 crores for the quarter ended September 30, 2007.
Birla Corporation Limited (BCL) posted a 55 % rise in net profit at Rs. 103.13 crores for the quarter ended September 30, 2007 against Rs. 67.54 crores during same quarter of last fiscal.
Bank of Baroda (BOB) posted a 13.46 % rise in net profit at Rs. 327.19 crores for the quarter ended September 30, 2007 against Rs. 288.36 crores during same quarter of last fiscal.
VSNL (renamed Tata Communications) posted a 42.53 % dip in net profit at Rs. 61.42 crores for the quarter ended September 30, 2007 against Rs. 106.92 crores during same quarter of last fiscal.

ABB posted a 40.83 % rise in net profit at Rs. 115.68 crores for the quarter ended September 30, 2007 against Rs. 82.14 crores during same quarter of last fiscal
Reliance Capital posted a 20.42 % rise in net profit at Rs. 201.28 crores for the quarter ended September 30, 2007 against Rs. 167.15 crores during same quarter of last fiscal.
Entertainment Network (ENIL) posted an increase in revenue by 30% to Rs. 53.2 crores in the quarter ended September 30, 2007. The net profit is Rs. 64 lakh. During this quarter Radio Mirchi, the FM channel operated by the company launch 7 new stations at Kolhapur, Surat, Lucknow, Varanasi, Aurangabad, Madurai and Nasik. According to IRS study Radio Mirchi leads in Mumbai with 37 lakh listeners, a lead of 23% over its nearest competitor. The board of directors of the company approved transfer of event management business, which operates under, brand name of 360 degrees to a new company Alternate Brand Solutions Limited, ABS.
Pharmaceuticals Company Lupin posted a fabulous result in the quarter ended September 30, 2007. The profit this quarter is Rs. 118.08 crores against Rs. 58.30 crores in the similar quarter of the last year. The net profit increased by 202%.
FMCG Company Dabur India posted a 22.81% rise in net profit. The net profit, this quarter that is, which ended in September 30, 2007, is Rs. 96.59 Crores against the net profit of Rs. 78.65 crores in the same quarter of the last year.
Dabur Pharma posted a 22.7% rise in net profit. The net profit, this quarter that is, which ended in September 30, 2007, is Rs. 8.54 Crores against the net profit of Rs. 6.96 crores in the same quarter of the last fiscal.
National Aluminium Company, Nalco posted a 26.06 % decline in net profit at Rs. 439.73 crores for the quarter ended September 30, 2007 against Rs. 595 crores for the corresponding quarter last fiscal year. The disruption of coal supply along with strengthening of rupee against dollar has eaten away profits in the last quarter.

Steel Authority of India Limited posted a 17.8 % rise in net profit at Rs. 1700.24 crores for the quarter ended September 30, 2007.
Ceat posted a 660 % rise in net profit at Rs. 25.5 crores for the quarter ended September 30, 2007 against Rs. 3.83 crores during same quarter of last fiscal.
EIH posted a 200 % rise in net profit at Rs. 79.45 crores for the quarter ended September 30, 2007 against Rs. 36.06 crores during same quarter of last fiscal
